Philip Beisly was born and brought up in Weston-Super-Mare. He went to school at the town’s Catholic primary, Corpus Christi.
After studying English at Cambridge University, Philip’s work in adult education led to a move north to Derbyshire. However, he
returned to his Weston roots and became involved in conservation and environmental issues working with the voluntary sector and
developing a number of community projects.
In September 2001 Philip began his studies for the priesthood at St John’s Seminary, in Wonersh, Surrey. Philip is an expert on
local history and has written two books about the seaside town’s intriguing past.
Fr Philip was ordained by Bishop Declan at Clifton Cathedral on 9th July 2005.
